Trump Shows Great Dignity And Leadership By Calling Chuck Todd A “Son Of A Bitch”

Do you remember the days when the biggest presidential scandal of the year was the color of Barack Obama’s suit? Now, we have a president embroiled in scandals ranging from cheating on his recently pregnant wife with a porn star to colluding with a foreign government to destabilize American democracy. Oh, and if you were wondering what he did yesterday, the president of the United States called a prominent journalist on one of the country’s biggest news networks a “sleepy son of a bitch”.

During a speech on Saturday in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump aired his numerous grievances with the media holding him to account for his incessant lies and never ending scandals.  “It’s 1999, I’m on Meet the Press, a show now headed by sleepy eyes Chuck Todd,” Trump said. “He’s a sleeping son of a bitch. I’ll tell you.”

It’s not clear wha a “sleeping son of a bitch” means exactly, but then Trump wasn’t speaking to an audience of well educated, conscientious citizens eager to make the world a better place. He was speaking with a mob of nincompoops who still believe that Trump — a man who doesn’t read and has the vocabulary of a 7 year old, is qualified to run the most powerful country on earth. I try not to be too harsh on Trump supporters and usually direct my frustrations toward those abusing power (ie Trump and his administration) but their cheering of his disgraceful insult says much about their moral character.

Of course the real culprit here is Donald Trump, but it is getting increasingly difficult to find the right words to articulate just how disgraceful a president he is and convey the awesome shame he has brought upon his country. He has set the bar so low that there is almost nothing he could do that would force those around him and Congress to act and remove him from office. So we are stuck with this raving madman and must live in the world he has created — a fearful, vindictive place where being an asshole is now part of what it means to be an American.

Resist. Resist with as much might as you can, because this is only going to get worse.
